'Revealed: City's Hidden Illness'
This was the headline shouted from the front page of the Norwich Evening News on March 5th. It quoted the report from the City of Norwich Partnership that 26,000 people, 22% of the City's population, have mental health problems.
When people are anxious, depressed, stressed, those around them will feel it. Family relationships are disrupted, work colleagues may be less effective. The atmosphere for all can be strained and unhappy. Bullies no less than people who are bullied may well be seeing their doctors for medication.
Counselling gives people a chance to be listened to: the space to express their feelings, to talk out their problems in confidence away from confrontation and blame.
When we feel comfortable in our own skin the ripple effect on our families and colleagues can be remarkable.
Think about it.
